The SnowMansion Adventure Lodge is pet friendly and is in the heart of Arroyo Seco, the jewel of Taos, one of the most beautiful villages in New Mexico, with galleries, restaurants, groceries and more just outside the door.
As we remain true to our Hosteling roots in every way we can, for the time being we are emphasizing our private Lodge Building Suites. Shared dorm accommodations are offered on a measured basis. Call if you have any questions.
This Summer, we are putting a big emphasis on making our outside seating areas as plentiful and comfortable as our inside common areas. We think you will be impressed.
SnowMansion Story:
The SnowMansion Taos Adventure Lodge and Hostel is steeped in the history and traditions of Taos, Taos Ski Valley and Northern New Mexico since as long as anyone can remember. Experience old word hospitality in this European style village and European style adventure lodge, that is both out of the way and on your path and a destination unto itself.
The Village of Arroyo Seco was founded by artists, farmers, ranchers, gamblers, outlaws and adventurers in 1800.
The Chase Mercantile Company General Store, which preceded the SnowMansion, was built in 1930 and supplied, clothed and fed said artists, farmers, ranchers, gamblers, outlaws and adventurers until 1960.
In 1960 it became an episcopal church ski lodge for faithful and adventuresome ski groups headed to the fledgling Taos Ski Valley, where their faith was surely tested on the bumpy dirt road and surely rewarded on steep terrain that dominated the the Taos Ski Valley experience in the early days. Today the Taos Ski Valley resort presents a world class resort as well as world class skiing and big mountain terrain for all levels and last but not least, no lift lines.
In 1973 the SnowMansion Adventure Lodge and Hostel was born and has welcomed Taos visitors of all kinds - individuals, couples, families and groups - all year around ever since.
Our Lodge Building is a 100 years old, 6,000 sq. ft. Spanish Colonial with Art Deco touches and has 8 Studio Suites. Each Lodge Studio Suite is large enough for a big family or group where everybody can have their own bed - and cozy enough for one person with room to lounge. The Lodge Suites boast modern in-room amenities, like Air-Con, Microwave, Fridges, Tea Kettle, French Press Coffee Makers and use of a restaurant style common kitchen, in an old world Spanish Colonial setting.
Individual Travelers know they will meet friendly and interesting people, at the SnowMansion and in the village.
Groups and families love the ease of chaperoning in the lodge, grounds, and village - the use of the full kitchens and dining areas to cook and eat meals, the spacious lodge room with a pool table, lots of boardgames, toys and books for children, a piano, a fireplace, and lots of indoor and outdoor seating and meeting areas.
Individuals, couples, families, and groups, enjoy all of the above.
Eat up the soul food - drink in the eye candy - and experience the poetry of Northern New Mexico - at the SnowMansion Lodge in Arroyo Seco de Taos, steeped in the traditions of Taos, Taos Pueblo and Taos Ski Valley.
The world famous SnowMansion Taos Adventure Lodge and Hostel offers all types of lodging for all ages and all sizes, in all seasons.
We look forward to lodging you.
